Web Developer (PHP)

MarketArt is currently seeking a full-time back-end web developer. We are looking for somebody who can help expand and evolve our web applications. Some projects include online administration tools and our social driven web and mobile web apps. 

 

What you'll be doing... 

  • Develop, modify, and maintain sections of existing application code
  • Collaboratively conceptualize new features or applications.
  • Code and maintain back-end for website applications
  • Perform project quality assurance and testing for website/applications
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or become evident
  • Have an eagerness to adapt with and learn new programming technologies 

 

What you need to do it... 

  • Advanced knowledge of PHP 
  • Proficient in SQL query writing, optimizing and troubleshooting (we use MySQL). 
  • The ability to code according to HTML/XHTML web standards.
  • Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts.
  • Javascript/jQuery skills.
  • Basic Unix-based OS and shell environment familiarity
  • Drive to innovate.
  • Basic source code repository proficiency (We use git)
  • Self-motivated, and able to multi-task.
  • Excellent communication and team skills 

 

What else would be awesome... 

  • CSS and the ability to implement designs. This isn't required for a back-end developer but if you are interested, we are too!

Web Designer

MarketArt is looking for a talented and motivated web designer. This position is responsible for the visual design and user interface of MarketArt’s products and online presence.

What we are looking for...

  • Appreciation for business problems and a desire to solve them through effective user-centric design.
  • Ability to organize design elements in a clear and meaningful manner.
  • Creative nature and ability to create visually stunning design.
  • Somebody who loves to design and build amazing products.
  • Ability to work with in a team, collaborative environment.
  • Somebody driven to stay on top of the latest design trends and techniques.

 

What you need to do it...

  • Expert proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, and other web design tools.
  • Proficient with XHTML/CSS and even some more fun HTML5/CSS3!
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates an understanding of user interface design and problem solving.
  • A complete understanding of the role of design in supporting the content, not the other way around.

 

What else would be handy...

  • Knowledge of Javascript (jQuery).
  • Ability to integrate the design into system architecture (PHP).
  • Basic understanding of Actionscript and Flash
